  • Advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy

  • 1996 Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in California.

Experience:

Dr. Fox has been working with individuals, couples, families and groups since 1981. She has been in private practice since 1988. In San Diego, Dr. Fox has worked at:

  • Professional Community Services

  • Pathways Substance Abuse Treatment and Education Center

  • Community Research Foundation crisis centers

  • Spring Valley Youth and Family Service Center

  • Dr. Fox facilitated the outpatient eating disorder program at Alvarado Parkway Institute from 1990 – 1992, using cognitive-behavioral group and family therapy interventions.
    • In 1999, Dr. Fox began working with active duty servicepersons and their families at the Navy Fleet and Family Service Center, using short-term, solution-focused therapeutic interventions.

    Research:

    • Dr. Fox has done research in communication, linguistics, and literary style; gerontology; doctor-patient relations; drug addiction; human attachment; father-daughter relationships and eating disorders.

    Professional Affiliations:

    • Active member of the American Psychological Association
    • The San Diego Psychological Association
    • Chair of local chapter of CLASP, Colleagues Assistance and Support Program since 2001.
